Advanced estate planning is especially important for HNW and UHNW clients in the current planning environment, with changing tax laws and economic uncertainty. Domestic Asset Protection Trusts (DAPTs) and Special Power of Appointment Trusts (SPATs) are useful in protecting assets from creditors, minimizing estate and gift taxes, and allowing flexibility in accessing assets. This program will include case studies and practical applications for using these two trusts effectively, avoiding common pitfalls and maximizing protection, and understanding the tax and legal considerations involved.
