Wayne Zell: Welcome back to Blueprint for Wealth, your fast paced half hour talking with entrepreneurs who have something to tell you about their business and how they can help you achieve your dreams of wealth and freedom. And today, we've got Jeremy Watson who's in Scottsdale, but originally from the West Coast. Welcome, Jeremy. Welcome to the show.
Jeremie Watson: It's a pleasure to be here, Wayne.
Wayne Zell: Alright. Well, let me give you a little bit of background on Jeremy first before he is the founder of the Watson Agency, which is a marketing agency, and he's helped numerous businesses scale to six, seven, and even eight figures, utilizing a unique proven methodology to elevate brand authority, generate high quality leads, and maximize your return on investment, your ROI. With deep expertise in crafting compelling offers, strategic brand positioning, and building impactful digital ecosystems, Jeremy's insights are especially relevant for businesses seeking to make data driven impactful decisions. But before we get to that, Jeremy, tell us a little bit about how you got into marketing. You were in the enter entertainment industry.
You were in a Disney commercial. You worked with Kevin Costner. Tell us a little bit about about that.
Jeremie Watson: Yeah. Happy to, Wayne. I actually grew up on the South Side Of Chicago, Southeast Side Of Chicago, 80 3 10 South Phillips. And I was raised in a two parent household, had two god fearing parents that that always instilled in me god, family, education, and hard work. So coming up, I was a sports guy.
You know, I loved Michael Jordan coming up. I I always wanted to go to the NBA. Too bad I only grew grew to be about five ten, but I love Michael Jordan growing growing up. So a lot of those, work ethics principles that that apply to sports that I kinda apply to every aspect of my life. I had an opportunity to get a scholarship to go to, play some football in college as well as run some track.
Wow. And in college, I actually launched my first business from my college dorm room with my brother.
Wayne Zell: Where did you go to school?
Jeremie Watson: I went to Minnesota State, for one year and then later transferred to Concordia University.
Wayne Zell: Okay. And, you ran track and played football and did marketing right out of your dorm room?
Jeremie Watson: Yeah. Yeah. That that's right. Yeah. We would go to practice, go to class, knock our homework out, and my brother actually went to a recording art school, not too far from Concordia.
It's a school called IPR downtown Minneapolis. So we're talking ten, fifteen miles, from our campus. So we've actually built studios out in our in our dorm apartment.
Wayne Zell: Wow. That's cool. I I do recording myself. Obviously, I'm recording this, but I've I've done musical recording over my career. And it's, it's a talent, and it's become technologically out of my reach.
So maybe someday you'll teach me how to do that kind of stuff.
Jeremie Watson: So I'm sure you got it down, Wayne.
Wayne Zell: I don't know. I don't know. I'm learning I'm learning as I go along. I'm only I've only got a few years left, so I gotta figure out how to do it. Tell us about the, the experience you had with Disney and and Kevin Costner real quick because I I I was fascinated by that.
Jeremie Watson: Our first business actually brought us from, you know, Minnesota to LA. We ended up getting that what we call a distribution deal, a d deal with UMG, for a live event and music publishing business, which brought us to Los Angeles, to pursue a career. And while in Los Angeles, furthering, the growth of our event marketing business as well as our publishing business, we also kinda step stepped a foot into the entertainment industry where I had an opportunity to be in, you know, several films, one of which was McFarland USA, as a football player, as a as a as a stand in. I had that opportunity to stand in with Kevin Costner and really see that man work. That was incredible.
But also, you know, music videos for everybody from the likes of Usher to Chris Brown, as well as a Disney national commercial or live action trailer for a video game called Fantasia that they released back in 02/2015.
Wayne Zell: So, you
Jeremie Watson: know, I've had an opportunity to work on several, projects in the entertainment industry, for large studios.
Wayne Zell: How did you get from that to building your own marketing agency?
Jeremie Watson: That's a great question, Wayne. My discipline actually was in marketing. I went to college for went to school for marketing. So my foundation was always in marketing, and a lot of the principles I actually learned in school. I applied those principles while in LA attempting, you know, to launch the first business.
And I've and I've used those principles throughout my life. So marketing is is kinda home for me in a lot of ways, so it's something that I always came back to.
Wayne Zell: When I was, when I was in school and I took marketing actually forty five years ago, it was the four p's, you know, product, price, placement, promotion. What what is marketing today, and what do you focus on?
Jeremie Watson: Yeah. I think product price, place promotion, those are definitely foundations. I'm primarily focused right now on, digital marketing, so leveraging the Internet, leveraging social media. There's actually a framework that I created called the CLAS framework, which is a five step framework that focuses on the things I believe are important for any business to scale, and it's a framework that I've used to help several businesses scale. And what class is all about is c stands for credibility and branding.
Right? Building credibility, and creating a great brand foundation or break great brand strategy. The l is for lead generation. Right? You need leads to actually, you know, close deals and be able to be profitable as a business.
The a in the CLAS framework stands for automated systems or automation. So in this day of, digital, marketing, you know, we have to automate processes to buy back our time. So, you know, we take a strong focus on automated automation and automated systems. And the the s is for sales offer creation. So we need an offer.
Just because you have a product or service, doesn't mean you necessarily have a compelling offer. McDonald's doesn't make the best burgers, but they have some of the most compelling, promotions and offers, which is the reason they've been able to scale. So you as a small business owner, you know, have to take those same principles that Apple, and some of the larger companies are using by creating compelling offers for your business as well. And the last is the sales funnel. And the funnel is all about how the user's journey.
Right? How are you capturing? How are you nurturing? And how are you converting that prospect into a lead? That prospect into a, actual customer or user of your the product that you're offering.
Wayne Zell: Tell me about the automation side of it.
Jeremie Watson: Yeah. That's a great question. And the advice that I give to them is that, you know, is that most all things can be automated online. You know, we have we obviously offer a software that that can help with that. But the beauty of working with our agencies, everything is done for you.
So I think the pain points aren't necessarily about is a person smart enough to learn how to to make a flyer, is a person smart enough to learn how to send an email. Most people know how to do that. It's really the pain point is really the time. Right? The time that it takes to actually execute these tasks.
So that's what our agency really takes off of their hands. But we're automating things like email, SMS, social posting, social messaging. You know, making sure that their calendar, syncs, making sure that reminders are set for events. The sales reporting can be automated. The proposals, the agreements, the contracts can be automated.
The customer notifications, the the payments, we can even automate their pipeline. So there's a lot that can be done in terms of automation. Obviously, I'm just kinda scratching the surface Sure. because we only have so much time. Yeah.
But there are a lot of aspects of their business that can really be automated.
Wayne Zell: So when you talk about automating their pipeline, I'm thinking, you know, you've got folks coming in the top of the funnel. They're leads. How do you automate the pipeline to turn those leads into customers?
Jeremie Watson: Yeah. So that's a great question, Wayne. And I think a lot of people, you know, they start at the top of the funnel with leads, right? And they're very focused on lead generation. They think that if I just have more leads, I'm gonna close more deals. But the truth is, most business owners, they have a lead problem.
They actually have a conversion problem. Right? So what we do is we take, we look at their pipeline, and then we automate different, automations within that pipeline. So depending on what action a lead takes, depending on what information they provide, they're gonna get routed to a different, you know, email sequence or a different workflow.
And so what we're really doing is we're creating a sales force that never sleeps. Right? So once you set up an automation, that automation is running twenty four, seven, always working on, converting that prospect into a customer. So let me give an example.
A business owner, they get a thousand leads a month. Right? But they only have a conversion rate of 1%. So that's only ten customers that are that they're closing. Now, what if we could increase that conversion rate from 1% to 3%?
Now you're closing thirty customers. You tripled your business. And all of that without spending another dime on lead generation. Right? So that's really where the magic is.
Wayne Zell: That's huge. That's really huge. That's that's really the crux of the whole thing. I mean, look, you you can't have a sustainable business if you're not converting, right? I mean, you could grow your revenue, but without conversion, you don't really have a business.
Jeremie Watson: That's absolutely right.
Wayne Zell: You know, let me ask you something about this TikTok thing. TikTok is, you know, a very popular social platform, but there's been, you know, some talk about banning it in the US and in other countries. How does that affect your strategy? Are you recommending to clients to avoid TikTok? Or are you recommending that they go all in on TikTok?
Jeremie Watson: Yeah. That's a great question. I mean, TikTok is, it's a powerful platform. I mean, the user base is huge. It's, you know, it's a mobile first platform, and it's very popular especially with Gen Z and younger millennials. But, you know, I think the uncertainty around TikTok is, you know, it's a legitimate concern.
I'm not I'm not real sure. We're on our on our side, and our team is really positioning ourselves to to really, pivot. In the event that TikTok completely goes away, we're gonna be just fine because we have other channels.
Wayne Zell: Alternative to TikTok that you would identify in today's marketplace as a social media expert?
Jeremie Watson: It's gonna be Facebook and Google without a doubt. Facebook, and Google are gonna be great alternatives. Snapchat will probably be, an alternative. Kids are starting to, you know, really lean into Snapchat. But, you know, you know, go with the major players.
You're looking at Google. Google is the number one provider of, you know, data. They're the number one data owner. All their data is first party data. Facebook Facebook's data is third party data.
Google's data is first party data. They they own YouTube. If we're looking at Facebook, they own Instagram. So those are the players.
Wayne Zell: So it's interesting. You know, everybody's talking about AI and artificial intelligence and how it's changing the world in so many different ways. And I you know, as I look on Facebook or Instagram or, LinkedIn, I I see the infusion of AI into all of this Google. You know, Facebook has Meta, AI or whatever. How is that going to infiltrate what you're doing?
How will it help you deliver better service to your clients? What are your thoughts on that?
Jeremie Watson: It's data mining. Right? So it's it's Good
Wayne Zell: point.
Jeremie Watson: A great way to gather data quickly. So, you know, time to value speeds up. I don't have to go to the library to pick up a book, to read, to grab some information. Right? It's at my fingertips.
So, how much faster does that allow me to deliver the results? Now so the people on the end, you say I can just use AI. AI isn't gonna compensate for experience. Right? So, you know, I'm not gonna be able to represent myself in court.
There's there's certain things that you still need the experience for, but the ability to grab information quickly, it it's incredible. So I think it's a it's a tool across industries, across verticals for for just about any industry.
Wayne Zell: We've been using it in our law firm just to help us market by taking some of the more technical stuff that I have to deal with, dumbing it down, and making it easier to understand for the average reader so that they can basically and that's something I I've prided myself on being able to do over my career. But with AI, because it just goes so much faster. You can take a really complicated topic and say, make it less professional and more usable to the average user. And that I'm seeing that happen at a at an exponential pace. Just taking content that is hard to parse and hard to understand and making it easier to present and market and brand out to your customers.
And that that's something I've seen personally, in the use of, AI and marketing. I think it's it's it's a tremendous tool. Tell me how you wanna be remembered, Jeremy.
Jeremie Watson: I wanna be remembered as a guy, a man who kept God first place, who went you know, no matter what adversity he faced, he he got up. He tried to, you know, continue to do the right thing, to to continue to provide value to the world in the ways that he could. But, man, number one is just a believer. You know? We're all gonna face our fair share of adversity, and we know that time in life is fleeting.
So while with the time that we have here, with the time that we have left, I wanna be a person that adds value, be it to business owners, be it to any person that needs, the information that that I have available to me to give to them, but also as a believer.
Wayne Zell: Got it. Yeah. The, you and I had talked before we got on air, and you mentioned something about this new 7 figure tech stack that you've got. Tell me about that. Tell the listeners about that because I was intrigued by that.
Jeremie Watson: Yeah. Yeah. And that and that kinda ties into the AI thing. Right? Yep.
So AI and automation, like, as I said, time to value, the ability to mine data, the ability to speed up the results for your end clients. So we developed what I like to call the 7 figure tech stack, which is a directory of all the AI and automation tools you need to service your clients. Okay? There are hundreds of tools, in this directory. And for all the listeners that are on, I wanna give that away completely free to everybody that supports Wayne's, Wayne show and is listening today.
You guys will all get a free copy of that.
Wayne Zell: That is very cool. So anyone who wants the 7 figure tech stack, how do they find you so that they can get it?

Jeremie Watson: No. I was gonna say, yeah, if you guys want want a free consultation from my team, you just wanna speak to an expert, maybe you got an idea, maybe you have a business that is, already doing some numbers, but, you know, you're you're stagnant, you know, talk to us. And we'll obviously give you a link so that you can put it on your platforms and market this out to your network of people because I think it's, it's great to do that. That's just good branding. You know?
Last last question of the day for for Jeremy Watson, who is the founder of the Watson Agency, a marketing firm, based out of California. But right now, he's located in Scottsdale because we know that people in California are suffering, and we all send them our prayers and our hopes that, things will recover quickly. Jeremy, if you had to give your best advice to an entrepreneur, what would that be?
Jeremie Watson: My best advice would be to stay humble. Stay humble and stay hungry. This journey of entrepreneurship is not an easy one. That's why many people don't go into it. It.
Right? And you're gonna face your fair share of adversity. Get a mentor, but also remain humble through the highs and lows. Never let a win get to your head. Never let a loss get to your heart, and stay hungry.
Wayne Zell: You know, you remind me of, the young quarterback who's playing for the Washington commanders, Jaden Daniels, who has the same mantra, and he's become very successful. And I I admire his humility and his, his, god fearing approach, and I admire that in you too. So congratulations on that, and may it continue to be a success for you.
Jeremie Watson: Appreciate it, Wayne.
Wayne Zell: The, the show is dedicated to entrepreneurs, but we're interested in hearing your feedback. If you wanna let us know at Blueprint for Wealth, what we're doing right and what we're doing wrong, let us know. And we thank Jeremy Watson of the Watson Agency for being our special guest today on Blueprint for Wealth. Thanks, Jeremy.
